The Board unanimously agreed at the regular monthly meeting of August 20 to hire Snellville Mayor Brett Harrell as the full-time Executive Director. Harrell will officially begin September 1 and will conclude his duties as Mayor on November 10, 2003.

The Board also agreed to take an “official” position on all zoning matters for properties located within the corridor. Each month, pending zoning issues will be reviewed by the Board with a written statement in support or opposition forwarded to the appropriate governing authorities. The Board desires that the opinion expressed be included for consideration in the same manner other interested parties participate in the public hearing process.

The Board also imposed one year term limits on the position of Chairman and established that the Vice Chairman will automatically succeed the outgoing Chair each April. All other positions are also subject to an annual election, however, office holders may serve additional terms.
