Hwy 78 CID Board thanks Snellville Planning Commission
on recommendation for approval of 78 Overlay District

SNELLVILLE: Hwy 78 CID Board Members congratulated and thanked members of the Snellville Planning Commission today for their recommendation to the Mayor and City Council in support of the Hwy 78 Overlay District. Chairman Kenny King said, “Our efforts to enhance the 78 corridor are greatly improved with the addition of the City’s Overlay District. Once passed by the City Council, this Overlay will complete the process begun in the County to address future development and redevelopment along the entire 7-mile corridor.”

The proposed Hwy 78 Overlay District within the City of Snellville and in conjunction with the County’s Overlay District will improve architectural and site aesthetics including enhanced landscaping and improved parking and lighting requirements for new development and redevelopment. The Overlay District, by improving quality development, should result in increased property values over time – both residential and commercial.
