to serve on
Governor's Congestion Mitigation Task Force
ATLANTA: On March 30, Governor Sonny
Perdue authorized formation of a task force that will try to reduce traffic
congestion in metro Atlanta.
The group is charged with developing standards for selecting transportation
projects for the region, based on a cost-benefit analysis with congestion relief
as the top priority. The Congestion Mitigation Task Force is expected to provide
recommendations by the end of the year and would be involved in project
selection, financing, and building.
The Task Force represents the cooperative effort of several agencies including
the Georgia Department of Transportation, the Atlanta Regional Commission, the
Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, and the State Road and Tollway
Authority.
Designees to the Congestion Mitigation Task Force are:
