Hwy 78 CID Summer Intern
now GDOT Transportation Planner
SNELLVILLE: Congratulations are in order for Michael Adams of Snellville. A
lifelong resident of the City, Michael earned a Masters in Urban Studies from
Georgia State University in December
2004 with an emphasis on planning and economic development.
Just prior to his graduation, Michael served as a summer intern with the Highway
78 Community Improvement District and focused his time on plans for economic
revitalization at the Park Place Activity Center (PPAC), inter-parcel access
opportunities, and grant research. Since he completed his internship with the
CID, the Board has approved the PPAC study, developed additional
inter-parcel access projects, and received an LCI grant – all efforts Michael
participated in.
Experience gained while at the Hwy 78 CID introduced Michael to the
Planning and Zoning functions of the City of Snellville and as a result, he now
serves as a member of the Snellville Planning Commission. Recently, Michael
accepted a position with the Georgia Department of Transportation as a
Transportation Planner for the counties of Douglas, Spalding, Fayette, Coweta,
and Carroll. Michael will also be involved in a number of other special
projects in metro Atlanta that he hopes will allow him to continue working on
issues important to CIDs.
Congratulations Michael Adams!
