Hwy 78 CID selects LCI
Consultant
SNELLVILLE: The Hwy 78 CID has selected a consulting team lead by PBS&J and
supported by Urban Collage and Bleakly Advisory Group to conduct an ARC
sponsored LCI Corridor Study for an approximate 2.5 mile section of U.S. 78 from
McGee Road in Snellville to Killian Hill Road in Gwinnett
County. The study is funded through a $94,000 grant from the Atlanta Regional
Commission and will consider existing and future transportation issues,
pedestrian access, land use, and revitalization.
PBS&J most recently completed the corridor Landscape Master Plan for the Hwy 78
CID and has prepared LCI studies for
Canton, Powder Springs, and Marietta among others. PBS&J has also completed
streetscapes for downtown Lawrenceville, Decatur,
Roswell, and Chamblee. Urban
Collage prepared the City of Snellville’s LCI and Town Center Plan, Suwanee’s
Town Center Plan, and the DeKalb County Memorial Drive Economic Development
Action Plan. Bleakly Advisory Group assisted Marietta in the implementation of
the first Tax Allocation District on the Powder Springs Corridor and worked with
the Midtown Alliance, Central Atlanta Progress, and Buckhead Action Committee on
their LCI project.
The public is welcome and encouraged to participate in any number of public
input meetings beginning in May with study completion targeted for December 1,
2005. Please visit the Hwy 78 CID website for details of the upcoming meetings –
