Hwy 78 CID seeks Park Place
Activity Center Consultant
SNELLVILLE: The Highway 78 Community Improvement District is seeking a
professional consulting firm experienced with the Atlanta Regional Commission’s
LCI Study Program to undertake the development of an innovative activity center
plan for the Park Place Activity Center (PPAC). The Hwy 78 CID issued a Request
for Proposal today seeking responses from professional consultants to lead the
PPAC Study following the guidelines established by the ARC for LCI studies.
Though funded locally, the Hwy 78 CID desires to model this study on the LCI
program. Qualified consultants should submit their proposal as a sealed bid no
later than 12:00 noon on Friday, May 27, 2005. One or more
firms may be invited to an interview with presentations by short-listed firms on
Tuesday, June 14, 2005. The Hwy 78 CID Board anticipates awarding the project at
the June 22, 2005 Board Meeting at 1:30 p.m. at Snellville
City Hall.
The professional services required by this project include preparing a
transportation multi-modal analysis, land use policy analysis focused on
redevelopment, and urban design policy analysis. Additional requirements include
an inventory of pedestrian facilities, an access management plan, an analysis
supporting land use changes and its impact on transportation system efficiency,
and consideration of the impact on adjacent routes resulting from proposed
changes to the U.S. 78 corridor. The chosen consultant will be required to work
closely with the Hwy 78 CID, Atlanta Regional Commission, Georgia DOT, and
Gwinnett County DOT among other public participants.
