Chambliss: Senate Approves Highway Funding Bill that will Benefit North Georgia and Metro-Atlanta
Bill includes key funds for North Georgia and Metro-Atlanta

Senator Saxby ChamblissWASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., praised passage of an important highway funding bill that the Senate approved today.  The bill includes important funds for highway construction and repairs nationwide – especially for a number of projects in North Georgia and the Metro Atlanta region. 

“This important highway bill will help make much needed improvements for Georgia’s highways,” said Chambliss.  “This bill provides important funds to improve our highways in many communities all across North Georgia and the entire Metro Atlanta region.”

Chambliss said the bill includes key funds for many Georgia communities, including many in North Georgia, and many throughout the entire Metro-Atlanta region. The bill includes the following funds:

$4,320,000 for the Toccoa Bypass
$1,200,000 for US 19 – SR 92/Ellis Road in Griffin
$300,000 for Streetscape in Downtown Forsyth
$1,540,000 for Bike and Pedestrian Path – Georgia Veterans Memorial Park
$3,400,000 upgrade safety of bike path in DeKalb County
$960,000 Streetscape improvement – Northlake Bus District in DeKalb County
$4,800,000 for Westside Parkway in Fulton County
$800,000 for Central Hall Recreational Trail in Hall County
$2,320,000 for West Cleveland bypass near SR 75/Hope Road
$4,020,000 for widening Cedarcrest Road – Paulding County to Governor’s Towne Road
$280,000 for Carrollton Greenbelt Project
$3,120,000 for Georgia 400 and McGinnis Ferry Road in Forsyth County
$2,400,000 for SR 85 widen from SR 74 to SR 126 in Fayette County
$1,200,000 for I-285 Riverside Interchange in Fulton County
$3,400,000 for pedestrian improvement on Buford Highway in DeKalb County
$7,400,000 to extend Sugarloaf Parkway
$800,000 for I-285/SR 400 Interchange Reconstruction (HOV) in Fulton County
$480,000 for I-75 to I-575 Interchange in Cobb County
$6,600,000 for I-75/Windy Hill Road Interchange
$1,600,000 for Georgia Construction, 3 Greenway in DeKalb County
$320,000 to replace sidewalks, lighting upgrade in Helen
$400,000 for SR 316/SR 20 interchange in Gwinnett County
$2,800,000 for SR 20 – I-575 – SR 369 in Cherokee County
$1,800,000 to construct Stone Mountain/Lithonia Road Bike in DeKalb
$9,700,000 for Highway 78 in Gwinnett
$800,000 for Butner Road in Fulton County
$800,000 for SR 400 – SR 10 Old Milton Parkway in Fulton
$4,600,000 for Access Road on Airport Loop Road in Hapeville
$1,200,000 for Interchange I-985 in Hall County
$4,700,000 for SR 85 – I-75 in Clayton County
$4,000,000 for Streetscapes in Clarkston
$5,500,000 for I-20W and SR 5 HOV lane in  Douglas County
$8,000,000 for SR 347 widen and new construction in Hall County
$500,000 for Fayetteville bike trail and greenway
$1,800,000 for I-575 HOV Sixes Road to SR 20 in Cherokee County
$5,500,000 for Hiram Bypass - SR 92 to US 270 in Paulding County
$300,000 for design and RR crossing gates construction – Acworth in Cobb County
$18 million for Transportation Improvements to I-285 interchange at Atlanta Road in  Cobb County
$2.5 million for Queens Road widening and reconstruction in Cobb County   
$1.5 million for widening Cedarcrest Road from Paulding County to Governor's Towne
$300,000 for the City of Duluth sidewalk and streetscape improvements 
$5 million for Transportation Improvements to SR 746/SE Rome Bypass from SR101 US 411 in Floyd County
$2 million for  I-285/I-20 West - reconstruct interchange
$2 million for SR 15 from Clayton City limits to North Carolina lane widening
$2 million for SR 105 from Cannon Bridge Road to Walnut Street widening 
$1.5 million for SR 369 from Cherokee Circle to CR 267/Hightower Circle, truck lanes,
$1.9 million for Forsyth County SR 369 widening from SR 9 to SR 306 and interchange at SR 400 in Forsyth County
$1.6 million to widen SR 20 from CR 293 to CS 5231 in Forsyth County
$2.2 million for transportation improvements to SR 306 and interchange at CR 65/Waldrip Road in Forsyth County
$5 million for transportation improvements to US 411 Connector from US 41 to I-75 in Bartow County
$3 million for Kennesaw National Battlefield Park for land acquisition in carrying out viewshed protection and wildlife abatement
$10 million for the State of Georgia road infrastructure improvements associated with capacity increases at statewide military installations
$2 million for DeKalb County, Rockbridge Road Corridor Improvements
 $500,000 for transportation Improvements to DeKalb County Southeast DeKalb Arterial Analysis
$1 million  for the City of East Point, Semmes Street Construction
$2 million for Right of Way acquisition for multimodel corridor, Fulton County
$5 million for Hall County, Widen SR 53 from Duckett Mill Road to Lake Ranch Court and Old Sardis Road from SR 53 to Chestatee Road
$1 million for the City of Smyrna, Railroad Quiet Zone
$1 million for the City of Smyrna, Brawner Park development and construction
$1 million for the City of Smyrna, Railroad Pedestrian Bridge
$800,000 for the City of Duluth, intersection realignment and road extension of Davenport Road at Buford Hwy
$2,400,000 for the Social Circle Bypass
$1,200,000 for I-20 HOV Evans Mill Road
$4,500,000 for Johnson Ferry Road in Glenridge
$800,000 for the Buckhead Community – SR 141
$400,000 for the Inter-parcel access Highway 278
$1 million to Upgrade SR 316 from I-85 to SR 10 Loop, in Gwinnett, Barrow, Oconee Counties new interchanges and HOV lanes
