Small project
improves safety, access and stimulates revitalization
Wentz-Reeves inter-parcel access construction complete
SNELLVILLE: It
may seem a small project, but the recently completed Wentz-Reeves
inter-parcel access connection will improve safety and access to
five businesses on U.S. 78.
In late 2005,
the Evermore Community Improvement District (CID) provided funding
for preliminary engineering and design of an inter-parcel driveway
connection between several properties on U.S. 78. The recently
completed construction was funded by the property owners themselves.
The connection will align with an opening in the median soon under
construction by the Georgia Department of Transportation providing a
safe, single point of entry to access five businesses – O’Reilly
Auto Parts, Inviting Events, Rhineland Imports, Mr. Transmission,
and Amazing Cars.
Evermore CID
Executive Director Brett Harrell says, “Not only did this simple
project improve safety and access, but it was a key selling point in
attracting O’Reilly Auto Parts as a long-term tenant in a previously
vacant and underutilized building.”
