Georgia DOT announces the following lane closures for U.S. 78 construction to remove the reversible lane and light system

Construction to remove the reversible lane and light system in Section 1 expands to the north side of U.S. 78 this week with the following lane closures.

The Georgia DOT announces the following lane closures for U.S. 78:

US 78 eastbound right lane from East Park Place Blvd to Stone Drive will be closed during the following hours:
 

Sunday, March 16 from 7PM to Monday, March 17 at 5AM.
 

US 78 westbound right lane from Stone Drive to Camp Circle will be closed during the following hours:
 

Sunday, March 16 from 7PM to Monday, March 17 at 5AM.

Congestion, delays, and safety are impacted by motorists that fail to clear the intersections within the work zone. Gwinnett County Police will issue citations for blocking these intersections.

The heaviest traffic appears in the evenings between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Georgia DOT continues to modify signal timing and evaluate changes to the construction schedule to reduce delays.
