Evermore CID Board awards sidewalk contract
Leach Landscaping to construct Park Place Area sidewalks

The Evermore CID Board awarded a SPLOST funded sidewalk project within the Park Place Activity Center to Leach Landscaping during the regularly scheduled July 23 meeting.


Section 1 Complete - Section 2 Under Construction
C.W. Matthews contractor progressing into Section 2 from Stone Drive to Killian Hill Rd.

C.W. Matthews contractors completed installation of the concrete medians on U.S. 78 this week in Section 1 from East Park Place Blvd to Stone Drive. The construction is now moving into Section 2 from Stone Drive to Killian Hill Road. When the project is complete, in November 2009, the roadway will have three (3) permanent lanes in each direction.

Work continues most nights after 7 p.m. and before 5 a.m. with lane closures to permit the construction activities.

Georgia DOT launches website for U.S. 78 at SR 124 intersection design
Project to improve safety, mobility, and flow at critical downtown intersection

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), in cooperation with Gwinnett County and the City of Snellville, has initiated a concept and environmental study for the US 78 and SR 124 intersection and immediate surrounding area.  The intersection is located in the “Downtown” commercial and residential area of Snellville, Georgia. Georgia DOT and Evermore partner to provide real-time traffic information for the U.S. 78 construction project. An interactive map visually provides travel information including current condition photos, travel time, and highway advisory radio broadcasts on 1620 AM.
