Park Place Activity Center Study

The Evermore Community Improvement District has completed a public participation study of the Park Place Activity Center area. Please visit this site for the final report issued by the professional consulting firm of Jordan Jones and Goulding.

This study identifies a number of improvements including the Rockbridge to Davis parallel access street.

Preliminary engineering complete

The Evermore Community Improvement District successfully partnered with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Gwinnett County DOT, and local property owners to provide a parallel access road from just east of the Yellow River to Jessica Daron Court.

Revitalization Task Force Study

This study, conducted in 2004, identified key issues and provided recommendations for the long term vitality of U.S. 78 including construction of new local access streets.

Final Recommendations - December 2005

Governor Perdue empanelled representatives of Georgia's four primary transportation agencies -- Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), and State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) -- to consider project prioritization methods that would significantly reduce congestion in metro Atlanta. Landscape Master Plan

Identifies 5 key nodes along U.S. 78, describes median and shoulder landscape enhancements, and recommends streetscaping to improve the aesthetics of the corridor. Completed March 2005.

CID LCI Corridor Study

A detailed study of a 2.5 mile segment of U.S. 78 from McGee Road in the City of Snellville to the intersection of Killian Hill Road in Gwinnett County.
Completed in December 2005. This six month study included several public participation and input opportunities and identified a number of potential improvements including: intersection realignments at Walton Court and Cambridge Street, parallel access streets from Hewatt to Parkwood and Parkwood to Britt, and interparcel access connections such as Wentz-Reeves.

LONG TERM PLANNING: Develop and aid in the implementation of a long-term positive plan for the Highway 78 corridor.
Five Year Work Program

COORDINATE MEDIAN INSTALLATION: Coordinate median installation so that it benefits surrounding business and residential areas. Investigate landscaping along the median and roadside.

UPSCALE DESTINATION AREA: Turn Highway 78 into a pleasant upscale destination rather than a road to somewhere else.
